Ok, so that’s a slight exageration, but it went well with the title. Just got back two days ago from a trek to Kareri Dal lake with an eclectic mix of people. Unusually cold for this time of the year. At one point Rinku was sure she was getting hypothermic! Thankfully, we all returned hail and hearty withg a few twisted muscles and achy bones..
Went in with a bunch of strangers and made some great friends by the end of it.. Learnt loads, of photography, forms and life in general. Got caught in a hailstorm minus a rain cover; walked through rain- drenched to the bones; distributed medication, worked feet and ate sumptuous meals :). Heard Rahul do the classic ” cuckadkoo”, Rinku the ” tum gaao, mein so jaun ( you sing, i will go to sleep), Poonam who couldn’t handle the nuts, Raj kept us entertained with his gusto, smile and unwavering enthusiasm on the stair climbing expedition, Navin who is busy writing his ” F*** the stairs” travelogue, Jacob stumped the locals with his near perfect hindi and endearing smile and finally Rajdeep, the pro of one liners (amongst other things). Coming back to Delhi was hard as always, this time even more so. Yet, this time I needed to return.
